What is in a Rebellion Book Box? Rebellion Book Box is a new, Canadian-based subscription box intended to signal-boost female authors. Learn more about our mission! Each box will contain at least one novel written by a female author and 2-3 items from feminist-run stores and shops. *Rebellion Book Boxes may include novels featuring "mature" content and/or language.
Why do I have to pay for my entire subscription right away? Simply, we don't feel cool about keeping your credit card information saved anywhere, even in "the cloud." This way, your info goes through PayPal once and done! We don't see your intimates and we're okay with that. Plus, PayPal offers customers a free Purchase Protection Plan, so if anything goes wrong, you're covered.
Will my credit card/account be charged automatically every 1, 6, 12 months as my plan expires? Nope. Never! We hate when charges pop up because you forgot to cancel something before a deadline. As your plan reaches its end, we will send you a couple email reminders so you're kept in the loop, but purchasing Rebellion Book Boxes will always be 100% your choice.
Why isn't the first box shipping until September? We had big plans to send out our first boxes in June/July, but heard feedback from folks that summer can be rough, with school being out, moving, and general "being too busy to check the mail"...ness. Plus, there are rumblings of a possible postal workers strike in early summer. So, September it is.
Do you have a Referral Program? YES! Refer 3 friends who subscribe and receive a free Book Box! But, for a limited time, you only need to refer TWO friends who subscribe to receive their own box and you'll get one free -- SHIPPING INCLUDED!
When are boxes sent out? Book Boxes are sent out between the 15th and 20th of each shipment month, (September, November, January, March, May, July). Signups for each box are taken up to midnight on the 20th day of the month prior to shipment; so if you sign up by August 20 at 11:59pm, you will receive the September Book Box.
What happens if my Book Box is missing something, or an item arrives broken? In the very rare instance that this should happen, we ask that you contact us within 45 days of receiving your shipping confirmation. We may ask for a photo of the broken item for verification. Because inventory is limited, we must receive notice of any issues within this 45 day period. Because of the "mystery" nature of the Book Box, we do not offer returns, refunds, or account credit for dissatisfaction of box contents. But we may be able to pass along some local charity info, if you need somewhere to donate your item.
